Nov 17th update
Breakfast at seven, round up the crew, where is Mark? 8:05 turn right on Pass Road. Slow down for the crossing guard ( he is there every week day but we never see anyone cross). Turn right at the Electric Maid Bakery ( Electric Maid was a stove in the early 20 ’s). Not much on this road, just a girly bar. Across the tracks , turn left at the coast ( US 90). Not much has changed, a few signs for a developer, same old destruction. Pass the casinos and the Hard Rock. Turn left at Lee street, neat stone house, wonder what kind of damage it had? Across the tracks again, a crew is already on the roof of Mr. George’s house. Pass the Biloxi Little Theater (remember “Rent “?), what a hoot. There is Yankey Stadium and the Salvation Army tent, turn right on Division. Almost to the end look for a sign for the Boys and Girls Club ( the sign is there but the club was removed near the end of August 2005)…we’re on site.
The siding crew is there, so are John & Ann ( they will be driving north on Saturday, will miss them a lot ). The color looks nice in the day light. Make a few repairs on the eaves, add 2 vents near the MB. I want to start the tub, Doug needs a new saw blade and some bead board for the porch. To the store again. Left on Bay View, pass the lumber yard (no, they don’t have any). Ralph, remember that bundle of shingles we wanted to take? Cost us $18.00. North on 110, over the bay west on I-10. First exit, go left for Home Depot. Shop, go back with my eyes closed.
Everyone is working except me. Lunch at Salvo, now the tub. David V read the directions, good, I was so ready for this to be over I would have blown it. Doug is having a fit with the ceiling of the porch, don’t say anything! Let’s go home and finish the porch tomorrow. I try to explain how I think the screen will work to Dan. He’s confused, I’m confused. They started the porch without a complete plan. Painting went nice today, only the porch to go. Ann will you touch up my finger prints in the trim? Found out hand cream will take it off.
Tomorrows blog will written on the airplane home. We need another week of trim and floors. I’ll be back for one last week, join me.
